Inniscarra Seniors on the Move group was formed in 2020 to provide an opportunity for the elderly of the parish to use the facilities of the commtunity centre, particularly the Slí na Sláinte 1k walkway. It also allowed for social interact which proved vital given the restrictions of the previous year.
Initially there was approximately 10 members who walked and talked. This number has now grown in excess of 120 members.
In 2022 Inniscarra Seniors on the Move amalgamated with St Senan’s Friendly Society and is now known as Inniscarra St Senan’s Seniors on the Move Group.
Currently the group meet every Thursday in Ballyanly from 11am to 1.00pm. A bus, funded by the Local Link bus service, collects members throughout the parish and brings them Various activities are organised on a weekly basis, such as walking, mobility class, yoga, and games, all suitable for the older person.
