Inniscarra Show & Vintage    

THE annual Inniscarra Agricultural/Horticultural Show Old Time Steam Threshing and Vintage Rally will take place  on the last sunday of august Sunday at Inniscarra Community Centre, Ballyanly, near Berrings and Cloghroe with a starting time of 1pm.

In the cattle ring most  years there are nine classes which will also feature a champion beef animal of the show, which is always a great attraction.

In the sheep section there are four different classes and new to the show this year is a class for goats.

In attendance this year will be members of the Ballincollig farmers market who will be displaying and selling potatoes,vegetables,flowers, home baking and organic food and many more items.

Indoors there are 11 classes in the horticultural section and there are numerous classes in the flowers, cakes and jam sections, as well as the arts and crafts sections. This year there's an extensive juvenile section also.

A new attraction to this year's show is the Best Dressed Scarecrow competition where there are seperate classes for adults and children. Also new to the show show in is an amateur photpgraphy section.

There will be prizes for the most appropriately dressed lady, gent, glamorous mother and child, glamorous granny and best dressed toddler. Aside from all that, the annual baby show takes place indoors at 3pm.

The vintage display in the community field will include the crushing mill which was once owned by the late Paddy Healy creamary manager of Gurtatrea will be on display. It was in use at Ballyshonin Creamery up to the 1970s.

Throw in a dog show, pets corner, bronze turkeys and alpacas and you have a show not to be missed.
